Demonstration School of Khon Kaen University Primary Level
(Mo Din Daeng, SMD)

I visited Mo Din Daeng, located at Khon Kaen University, where I taught science to fifth-grade primary students.

Academic support system

The primary school provides students with various resources, such as a library, laboratories, and school Wi-Fi.

Since the primary school is one of the demonstration schools of Khon Kaen University (KKU), it uses original textbooks published by KKU instead of those issued by the government.

Some students stay in the classroom after school to study or take exams.

To enhance learning accessibility, some subjects use Google Classroom for homework submission. When students are absent from class, they can attend extra lectures through Google Classroom.

Teaching system

The primary school offers a wide range of subjects, including Thai, English, P.E., Isan history, math, science, scouting, social studies, art, and AI (computer skills) among others. The school follows Open-Approach method, which was introduced from Japan. This method focuses on engaging students in the learning process, promoting critical thinking, and fostering interaction. It is more important for students to use their brains to discover multiple answers, rather than focusing on finding only one.

This school hosts many internship students from the Faculty of Education at KKU, who deliver lessons as if they were professional teachers.
